I HAVE BEEN FASCINATED BY SHIPPING SINCE MY SCHOOL DAYS, ESPECIALLY BY SAILING. AFTER COMPLETING MY TRAINING AT THE WILHELMSHAVEN WATER AND SHIPPING AUTHORITY IN 2012, I PUT MY PASSION INTO PRACTICE AS A SHIP MECHANIC, PRIMARILY ON THE MULTI-PURPOSE VESSEL “MELLUM” IN THE GERMAN NORTH SEA.

I HAVE GAINED A LOT OF SAILING EXPERIENCE IN MY PRIVATE LIFE, FROM YOUTH CRUISES TO AN ATLANTIC CROSSING TO THE CARIBBEAN ON MY OWN 32-FOOT CATAMARAN “RUNNING DEER” IN 2020. THESE EXPERIENCES HAVE SHAPED ME NOT ONLY AS A SAILOR, BUT ALSO AS A CAPTAIN.

MY SAILING ADVENTURES HAVE TAKEN ME THROUGH VARIOUS AREAS, INCLUDING THE NORTH SEA AND THE BALTIC SEA, THE ATLANTIC FROM NORTH TO SOUTH NORWAY (INCLUDING NORTH OF THE ARCTIC CIRCLE) AND THE SOUTHERN WATERS OF THE ANTARCTIC UP TO 64° SOUTH LATITUDE. I HAVE ALSO TRAVELED THE MEDITERRANEAN AND THE IRISH SEA.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  • Yachtmaster Offshore

  • Short Range Certificate (SRC)

  • Sportbootführerschein See

  • Ship mechanic letter

  • Lifeboatman according to STCW Code A-VI/2

  • Fitness for naval service (German)

  • Basic Safety Certificate

  • Certificate of competency for seafarers who perform bridge and engine watch duties

  EXPERIENCES

  • International transfer of sailing yachts, motor yachts, and catamarans

  • 55,000 nm of sailing experience

  • 15 years as a ship mechanic on the multi-purpose cargo ship “Mellum”
